Creating and Maintaining Tables

Introduction

In Exact Globe, you can create and maintain you own tables or fields for your business-related data based on specific business needs. You can do this if you have Exact Extender in your license. With Exact Extender, you can create customized tables to store the data that you might want to use for other standard (existing) tables and maintain the standard tables by adding, modifying, or deleting fields contained within the standard tables.

Menu path

  • To create customized tables, go to Add-on/Extender Tool/ Database editor, and click New.

  • To modify existing tables, go to Add-on/Extender Tool/Database editor, select the relevant table, and then click Open

Description

Header section

This section displays the table name and description of the table. For standard tables, the table name and description are shown by default and cannot be edited. However, you can type the table name and description when creating customized tables.

Table

Type a name for the new customized table. The name for a customized table should be unique, consisting of at least five characters with a starting character combination of “CSCT” to ensure that the new table is recognizable and does not conflict with existing tables, and followed by other alphanumeric characters including the underscore (_). Other characters are not allowed.

Note: This cannot be edited once you have created the table.

Description

Type a description for the new customized table. This description will be used as a part of the menu path which is linked to the created customized table. For example, if you type “Example” at Description, a new menu path Add-on/Extender Tables/Example will be displayed after saving and restarting the software.

Note: This is applicable only when you are creating a customized table.

You can select the type of transaction to view the extra fields for the transaction type. Select one of the following:

  • All - Select this to view the extra fields for all the transactions. By default, this is selected.
